AmeriHybrid Daffodil Begonia
The Daffodil Begonia was first discovered in 1896 and reached the top of its day in the early 1900s. By the 1950s, it was thought to be extinct by Begonia enthusiasts and experts. J. Haegeman, in his book Tuberous Begonias, noted that the group was no longer found in commerce.
In the early 1980???s, Golden State Bulb Growers brought the variety back to life. A customer inquiry about the variety sent Andy searching through years of seed storage. Andy found Daffodil Begonia seeds that dated back to 1954. His successful planting of the seeds lead to the re-introduction of the variety to commerce. After decades of hard work and dedication to breeding Daffodil Begonias, CalBegonias.com is proud to offer the rare series of AmeriHybrid?? Daffodil Begonias.
